More insightful grantee feedback through an improved global partner survey
The challenge
Our client was a global non-for-profit organisation that works as a funder, convenor, and capacity strengthener for over 70 partner organisations. After a period of significant change and expansion, the organisation needed to streamline, refine, and strengthen its annual partner feedback process to reconnect with partners and understand their needs.
How we helped
We worked with the client team to understand their key strategic questions, the strengths and weaknesses of their existing partner feedback process, and how they wanted to use the findings. We then co-designed a refreshed and streamlined mixed methods partner survey to address these priorities.
We translated the survey into multiple languages and analysed the resulting quantitative and qualitative data, adhering to strict confidentiality and data security protocols. Our analyses included applying an equity lens and conducting comparisons between different groups of respondents, using two-tailed independent samples t-tests.
We facilitated a whole-of-organisation sensemaking workshop to contextualise and make sense of the findings and to generate proposed actions and next steps for each team to take in response to the results.
Looking forward
Our collaborative approach, including the sensemaking workshop, helped staff engage with and embrace the insights from the feedback process. The project delivered a comprehensive report alongside a tailored summary report to suit different audiences, ensuring broad accessibility and relevance. The refined survey tool is now ready for future use, providing a strong foundation for ongoing learning and strong partner relationships.
